MMMmmmmonday: Slaters 50/50

If you didn’t have enough heart burn on Turkey day, here is your second chance. Introducing Slater’s 50/50. Named 50/50 after their infamous creation of the 50/50 burger, 1/2 ground bacon and 1/2 ground beef. My mom, Rita is a full blown foodie as well (where else would I get it from??). She is constantly researching new restaurants and discovered this bacon gem out in Point Loma, San Diego. This week Chanda and I ventured down south to assist in catering a Christmas tea, so we had it out on our agenda to experience the glory of bacon. MMMMmmmmm. We don’t mess around, are you ready for this????


First off we stopped our heart with Vampire dip, a blend cheeses, garlic, and artichoke all in a bread bowl. Next we washed it down with deep fried panko crusted macaroni cheese bacon balls dipped in chipotle ranch dressing. Are you starting to calorie count??


Whoops- nobody stopped to let us take a picture because they were so YUMMMMM.


Feeling a little thirsty?? Not to fret, they have 111 beers on tap!! Check out the full list here. Our dear friend Tera Perry (aka T Pain) flipped her lid when she found out  the triple one’s, she has a thing for the number 11. HA! 🙂


Now onto the meal. They have a creative list of burger creations here, but you can also design your own. With endless possibilities from “baconnaise” (bacon mayo) to spam, pumpkin sauce, peanut butter & jelly, and fritos. Curious what we zested??


Tera designed a veggie burger with fresh corn, sprouts, black beans, cucumbers, sauerkraut, and smothered brie cheese.


Momma ordered a classic burger with some “baconnaise” and vampire dip, MMMMmmmmMMM


Chanda and I rocked our usual split action with the lovely 50/50 classic complete with mashed avocados, a fried egg and bacon- cuz ya gotta try what a restaurant is named after. We also gobbled up the Flamin Hot complete with beer battered jalapeños, fire roasted green chilies, pepper jack cheese and chipotle adobo mayo on white brioche.


Billy ordered the Peanut Butter and Jellousy burger, ground beef topped with thick cut bacon, creamy peanut butter and strawberry jelly on a honey wheat bun. That’s right his patty is twice the size of his bun!!

After we gobbled all this up we had some HAPPPPPYYY BELLY’s.


And for dessert?? Do we go with the bacon brownie or the bacon milkshake?


Bacon milkshake it is! The perfect combo of sweet n salty.

Ready to go back for breakfast?? Wouldn’t wanna miss out on this action…..
