Howdy MMMMmmmonday peeps! So last week many of you know we took a little field trip down to San Diego. Mmmmmm lets chat about that amazing food, meet our friend Dolci. This little outing was actually not planned, we had planned on getting a massage before we feed the masses and ended up having some time to kill- so how do chanda and I spend it? Eating amazing Italian food of course!! This little gem of a restaurant is located right were I grew up in Rancho San Diego. Check out their menu here! (we promise- no copious amounts of bacon this week) 🙂
Let’s start with this bread. Ammmmmmazing. Seriously the most perfect sourdough bread we have yet to have, the perfect combo of a good crunch but not the kind that scrape the roof of you mouth. It was delectable with this pesto and tomato dipping sauce, not gonna lie we had a few baskets and even took the remaining slices home! No shame here.
Then we moved onto the “carciofini” aka marinated imported artichokes with fresh mozzarella and an amazing lemon sauce. UMM ya our apologies about the picture, we literally dove in and then realized a few bites in we had not taken a pic. MY BAD. 🙂
Then we balanced out some of those breads with a gorgeous spinach salad complete with crispy prosciuto, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, baked goat cheese and a house vinaigrette.
Lastly we split a lovely “dolci” pizza that was created with a basil pesto sauce, oven dried tomatoes, shrimp, red onions and pine nuts.
Seriously, is it dinner time?? You will have to check out this tasty stop if you ever adventure to San Diego.
