Kristi here! I am here in Oahu, Hawaii staying in Ko Olina at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa. I wish I could have packed you all with me and brought you here. Unfortunately I am a broke college student and I can only offer you a visual escape :). So sit back relax, make yourself I fresh Mai Tai and enjoy some vignettes from my first day here.
As much as this lagoon looks like it was dug out during the resort construction, it was actually formed naturally hundreds of years ago.
I love the added touch of placing flowers in the planters.
I also loved the concept of adding flowers to the trees! In the picture below you can see how they used part of a palm tree to secure the plant to the trees. A more eco-friendly way to accomplish this same feel could be to use twine to secure the potted flowers instead of screws.
